SMART contribution to Corporate Roundtable Series

Reflecting on recent developments and reimagining corporate governance is at the forefront of the Corporate Roundtable Series, organised by Frank Bold. This series of roundtables at major business centres around the world, including London, New York, Zurich, Breukelen, Paris, and soon Oslo, will conclude in a high-level Conference in Brussels on September 28, where Beate Sjåfjell is an invited speaker.

Oslo Roundtable

In addition to Beate's involvement at the Summit, SMART and the Research group Companies, Markets and Sustainability, will collaborate with Frank Bold by hosting a roundtable on the purpose of the corporation and the future of corporate governance.The following questions will frame the discussion:

  • How can sound corporate governance foster long-term focus and sustainable behavior?
  • What incentives for short-termism exist in law and the Code of Practice for Corporate Governance?
  • How can board-level responsibility be promoted within Norwegian state owned enterprises?
